Old Dirt, New Grime

The UP yard at Salina is always an attraction for railfanning, with easy access for the most part.

Here, a dirty Gevo sits idle while the crew waits for permission to proceed west down the Sharon Springs sub with a manifest, while a local crew uses a pair of GP40s to drag empty coal tipples to the west end of the yard.

Truth be told, the GP40s have both already likely seen 10 times as many miles as the C45AC-CTE will in the same amount of time.
