This shot marks the use of my new Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L USM tele-zoom. I think you'll notice a difference between the shots obtained from this lens versus the ones taken with the old Sigma.
I rarely get to see anything other than BNSF and UP traction. Even more so within territory that sees strictly UP power (and its subsidiaries) 99.9% of the time.
Here, a unit grain train sits dead on an industrial spur in Salina, on the Salina Sub, just ahead of the east throat to the Salina yard. Traction includes Norfolk Southern C40-9W #9102, ex-Conrail C40-8W #8337, and brand new BNSF Gevo ES44DC #7574.
I know, it's dark, but that'll be fixed later down the line.

I kinda like it with in this darkened state. It lends a more mysterious air to the picture, and NS engines are painted black...so they ought to be pretty dark. When I worked at KCS, I saw more foreign power than anything else, since all the coal trains we ran came off other railroads, and KCS just added a few more engines to the trains to get them over the hill'n'dale Shreveport sub.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

I've been guilty of that myself when in the darkroom.
But really it has the desired effect for drama. Nice.
