I know, these titles really suck. This is the last one of the series.
Here, BNSF SD40-2 #6368 runs light toward the bowl with a fresh coat of paint. Chances are, this sucker will be here for quite awhile, especially with that new paint on it.
And no ditch lights!

I like you perspective on this engine. I shot the same engine the same day, but mine looks like an ordinary 3/4 shot. This perspective shows off the sun deck really well.
The sun deck refers to the extra wide deck between the end of the long hood and the railing. There's enough space there for a couple of lawn chairs and a Hibachi grill. I think you're right about the ditch lights being missing. At first, I though they were along the yellow reflective tape line just below the deck, but those bright spots appear to be a glint off the MU plug covers. I haven't read the FRA regs recently, but perhaps ditch lights are not required on an engine restricted to yard service.
Ditch lights are only required when locomotives will be running over railroad with highway crossings at grade. Otherwise, they are not required. Without them a locomotive can only go over a highway crossing at grade not exceeding 20mph. Amtraks E60s never had ditch lights, since the NEC has no grade crossings, no need for ditch lights!

There is a difference between Model Trains and Toy Trains. I should know, I own both.
Anytime! And yes, they do. Dont have to worry about car collisions at thouse track speeds. However, we still get the dogs, the deer, suicide commuters and other wild animals.

I'm sure. I rode an Amtrak "State House" that ran over a suicidal person just south of Springfield, and another train on the same route ran over somebody three miles short of the station where I was to board...on the fourth of July... Those were not sealed corridors though.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
